A bit about the boat

Wind Mistress was purchased brand new, by her one and only owner, in Ohio where he sailed her on Lake Erie from 2002-2005 before bringing her to the Chesapeake Bay in 2005.  She has called Annapolis and the Bay home ever since.  Her owner is a licensed captain who has taught many families and individuals the joys of sailing, often times on this very boat. The Hunter 326 is easy to handle and fun to sail, making it a great choice for for a first time boat owner looking to get into the hobby on something simple and uncomplicated.

Aside from being well built and easy to sail, Wind Mistress has been extremely well maintained by her owner her whole life.  Any necessary repairs were completed, systems and equipment were updated as required, and regular maintenance was performed to prevent major issues from arising.

Inside and out, she sparkles! There are no head or diesel odors, the interior joinery and soft goods are in excellent condition, and the deck and hull shine like new. The love and care she's received since new are unmistakable.

The owner has made the difficult decision to retire from sailing, offering new owners the opportunity to continue the legacy of Wind Mistress, and create their own lasting memories sailing the Bay.

The Hunter 326 is a safe, easy-to-sail, and comfortable boat, making it one of the most advanced mid-sized cruisers of its day.

A creative layout boasts two private staterooms with solid privacy bulkheads, not just curtains. A spacious, well-designed salon abounds with plenty of seating and storage. The owner made a custom fitting for the salon table so that you can raise it all the way up to create more room in the salon. The table also lowers and creates an additional berth when needed. The original Navy blue seating upholstery is in excellent condition.

The teak-trimmed galley is complete right down to the dishware and offers a 2 burner propane stove and microwave oven, along with a top loading refrigerator. There is ample storage to store all the necessities for your trip.

 Aft is a large head complemented with a Corian-topped vanity with storage and full shower. The Jabsco manual head is plumbed to raw water, but has only been used sparingly and flushed with fresh water, so there is no head smell!

Topside, there's a wealth of innovations and features normally found on much larger boats. The rig, for instance, is a powerful B&R backstayless rig that allows easier sail handling with the large roach main and 110% genoa. Hunter has even reduced the weight aloft by utilizing strategically placed mast struts and smaller mast sections. This ensures less pitching and rolling and a stronger rig.

Hunter has also included its signature stainless steel arch that keeps the boom up and clear of the crew as well as keeping the cockpit clear of the mainsheet and traveler. The arch also makes a great attachment for the bimini and allows for sturdy handholds moving around the large cockpit.

The helm console has drink holders, storage and a pair of flip-up tables. Navigational aides include: VHF radio, Autohelm ST30 depth and knot displays, as well as Autohelm 4000 auto-pilot.
